Aaron Kleinwolterink
spent 8 years in the United States Marine Corps where he first became interested in fitness. He was assigned the position of Platoon Remedial Physical Training Instructor and was in charge of Marines fulfilling their physical fitness requirements.
Following his military service, Kleinwolterink attended Iowa State University where he graduated with a degree in Exercise Science. During his time at ISU, he volunteered with the Football Strength and Conditioning Department and later completed an internship with the Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning Department, working with Soccer, Volleyball, Softball, Swimming, Basketball and Track athletes.
In 2004, he assumed the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator position at the Centers for Athletic Performance (CAP) where he annually trains and collects data on over 1000 athletes of all ages. The majority of his research is targeted towards strength, power and plyometric training, where he has published several studies documenting improved vertical performance, strength gains and power gains from various types of programs.
Using his background in fitness, Kleinwolterink has broadened the CAP philosophies into the adult population using various training methodologies. Using resistance training and manually-driven, resistance-based cardiovascular equipment, his work is targeted to fat loss and improved function.
Kleinwolterink currently holds a CSCS certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and has held numerous certifications in the areas of health and fitness.
